Effect of Team Proactive Personality Diversity on Team Outcomes: the Competitive Mechanism of Supplementary and Complementary Fit

This study will explore the relationship between diversity of proactive personality among team members and team outcomes. We predict that the underlying mechanism of how team members with different-level proactive personality interact with each other to influence team outcomes is decided by the moderator. The two possible paths which teams with proactive personality diversity are likely to take during the team performing process could be explained by two congruence conditions of Person-Environment fit: Supplementary fit and Complementary fit. The proactive personality diversity, different mechanisms and team outcomes will be assessed by multi-wave survey data from different teams. The study will have implications for proactive personality and team function literature and contribute to practical team management.
