Sports injuries in professional football have been significantly reduced in recent decades. Modern sports technology supports team coaches and trainers in monitoring players' fitness and identifying potential risk factors for injury. The injury prevention cycle has been applied to reveal injury mechanisms and introduce preventive measures. Essentially, muscle strength and neuromuscular control have been significantly improved by football-specific injury prevention programs. In addition to the renowned FIFA 11+ injury prevention program, several evidence-based programs are utilized by professional football teams. However, injury prevention programs may need to be tailored to individual players. This presentation will discuss the effective components of injury prevention and provide insights for future biomechanical research.
