Biography

Andrew Sewell’s research in applied linguistics and sociolinguistics focuses on various aspects of English as an international language, including English accents in international communication, local varieties of English, pronunciation teaching and testing, and language ideologies. His work has appeared in journals such as World Englishes, ELT Journal, International Journal of Applied Linguistics and the Journal of Second Language Pronunciation. A monograph (English Pronunciation Models in a Globalized World) was published by Routledge in 2016.
