Personal profile

Hello everyone! My domain of research is moral and political philosophy, I work on the Liberal-Communitarian debate, pluralistic relativism, the question of rights and autonomy from a Communitarian perspective, and the political construction of the Self. I am also interested in social contract theories, social determinism, theories of justice and freedom, ethics of political ideologies (from communism to libertarianism), and much more! My master’s thesis was about the notion of Individual Freedom in Jean-Jacques Rousseau’s work, and the anti-totalitarian critique of the Social Contract. I defended Rousseau’s conception of individual freedom against the accusation of authoritarianism and ideological despotism, coming from many philosophers, which I claimed was due to a misconception of some basic rousseauist concepts (General Will, Legislator, Civil Religion, etc.). Between my MA and my PhD, I have studied linguistics and pedagogy, and I have spent a few years teaching French around the world, from primary school to university. I am passionate about traveling, politics, Bruce Springsteen, but also comedy and cats!
