Biography
GIFAYEHU Gizachew Wondie is PhD Student in the department of Government and International Affiars, Lingnan University, specializing in comparative study of political transitions, transitional justice and reocuncilation in multi-ethnic societies. His research interest is associated with political transitions, political crisies, transitional justice, multi-ethnic governance, recouncilation, and sustanable peace. He previously served as an Assistant Professor at University of Gondar, where he conducted extensive research on topics such as transitional justice, recouncilation, multi-ethnic governance, good governance, corporate social responciblity, and conflict resolution mechanims.
In addition to his academic work, Mr. Gifayehu has been actively involved in professional development and community services initiatives. He has delivered skills development training for higher education faculty and led multiple community-based projects focused on raising awarnesss about traditional conflict resolution and recouncilation methods, combating women trafficking, and life skill awarness creation training for youth. His work reflects a deep commitment to advancing governance, social cohesion, and sustanable development in diverse and transitioning societies.
Research Highlights
Mr. Gifayehu is currently undertaking a comparative study on the political transitions of Ethiopia and Myanmar, with a focus on thier respective request for transitional justice. His research explores the challenges and opportunites these nations face in addressing past injustices, fostering recouncilation, and building sustanable governance frameworks during periods of political transformation.
