Biography

Janet Ho joined the Department of English at Lingnan University in 2014. Prior to that she worked for several years at The Hong Kong Polytechnic University and The Open University of Hong Kong. She was a Visiting Study Fellow at the Centre for Advanced Research in English, University of Birmingham, in 2010. She received her Ph.D. in Linguistics from The Hong Kong Polytechnic University in 2013. The same year, she completed her Certificate in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (CELTA) in Krakow. Her current research interests lie in metaphor studies, discourse analysis, corpus linguistics, and English language teaching. Her recent publications have appeared in reputed journals including English for Specific Purposes, Journal of Pragmatics and Text & Talk.
