Eugenia is a seasoned professional in teaching and administration with extensive experience in local tertiary institutions. Prior to joining Lingnan University in July 2017, she had served in various teaching and management posts in the Hong Kong Polytechnic University, the Education University of Hong Kong and Hang Seng Management College.
As Director of Teaching and Learning Centre, Eugenia provides leadership in all areas of teaching and learning at Lingnan University and represents the University in liaising with UGC’s Quality Assurance Council. She also gives advice to the senior management on matters related to institutional benchmarking and ranking. At the same time, she has a concurrent appointment as Adjunct Professor at Division of Graduate Studies. When she was the Associate Dean of the Graduate School (GS) at Education University of Hong Kong, she assisted the Dean (GS) to manage the Master of Education programme among other duties.
As an academic for most of Eugenia’s career life, she has successfully secured numerous teaching and research funding, especially Teaching Development Grants, to use IT to foster student-centred learning. She believes the best way for students to understand different pedagogies is through experiential learning. Many of her publications are related to her experiences of adopting innovative use of IT in assessment, learning and teaching. Over 100 articles have been published as book chapters, journal articles, conference proceedings and newspaper articles. Her publications have appeared in many reputable international journals such as Australasian Journal of Information Technology, Computers & Education, Journal of Issues in Informing Science and Information Technology and Internet and Higher Education. Furthermore, she was the editor and co-editor for three referred books and editor-in-chief for an international journal and reviewers of many international referred journals and international conferences. Last but not least, she also renders professional service in the local community.
