Biography
Paulina PY WONG is currently an Assistant Professor in the Science Unit at Lingnan University. She joined Lingnan in August 2017. She completed her Bachelor (Physics) and Master (Geography) studies in New Zealand and obtained her Doctoral degree in 2014 from the University of Hong Kong. She has many years of industrial and academic research experience in New Zealand and Hong Kong mainly on ecological and practical applications of Geographical Information Systems (GIS). In 2013, she was awarded a 6-month Fulbright-Lee Hysan scholarship to conduct microclimate studies at the University of California in Berkeley, USA. She is also a certified GIS Professional (GISP). Her areas of specialization include air pollution, urban climate, GIS modeling and environmental health. Her current research interests concern environmental impact assessments with particular reference to health-related problems in Hong Kong. In recent years, her research has been extended to urban sensing, mobile geospatial technologies, environmental consciousness, education for sustainability, and smart city development. She has published in international journals including Environment International,Science of the Total Environment, Social Science and Medicine, Building and Environment, Social Indicators Research and Tourism Management.
