从梦想到现实 : 对翻译学科的东张西望

在西方，翻译研究已经是一门独立的理论学科；而在中国，翻译研究只是作为一门应用（分支）学科，主要探讨产生忠实译文的方法。然而，如果没有翻译理论研究作基础，应用研究亦难得到适当的发展。因此，我们最紧迫的任务便是扩充翻译研究的概念，这样才能真正开始描述性和理论性研究工作。

While Translation Studies has established itself as a n academic discipline in the West, in China it is recognized only as an applied (sub-) discipline, focusing on methods to produce faithful translations. However, without the solid foundation provided by Pure Translation Studies, applied studies cannot develop properly. The most urgent task is therefore to extend the concept of Translation Studies so that descriptive and theoretical work can really get started.
