Abstract
Interpreting studies has always focused on cognitive operations and processing, while what is really processed and how it is processed has not received equal attention. An adequate theorization of interpreting requires the exploration of both cognitive processing and information processing. By reviewing relevant literature, this article explores the mechanism, strategies and norms of information processing in interpreting and proposes a multi-layer multi-modal analytic framework for research into information processing in interpreting.
