Abstract
首次尝试在中国文化背景下,探究来华学习汉语的外国留学生跨文化适应和二语习得的关系,旨在了解研究问题的本质。采取了定性的研究方法,通过对25名来自4所不同高校的外国留学生进行开放式问卷获得数据;并对所得的数据进行内容分析。研究结果表明:二语习得动机在留学生们的学术和社会文化适应中起着至关重要的作用;此外,东西方的文化差异影响着语言习得的成绩和社会文化适应。
This paper investigates, for the first time in the context of the People’s Republic of China, cross-cultural adaptation and second language acquisition motivation of international students studying Chinese at tertiary level. The data were collected through e-mail interviews and open-ended questionnaires, and content analysis was used to address the research interest. The results indicate that second language acquisition motivation plays a very important role in the process of student’s academic and socio-cultural adaptation. In addition, cultural differences between East and West are also important, resulting in different levels of language attainment and socio-cultural adjustment.
