Abstract
唐滌生《紫釵記》(1957),改編自湯顥祖《紫釵記》。唐劇《紫釵記》 (1957) 刊於葉紹德 (1987) 和張敏慧 (2016) 分別校訂的兩套《論唐滌生戲曲欣賞》 。前者為葉本《紫釵記》(1957),後者為泥印本《紫釵記》 (1957)。此外,另有兩齣電影《紫釵記》 (1959,1977) 和唱片《紫釵記》 (1966)。
唐劇《紫釵記》 (1957) 全劇充滿負情氛圍,包括對李益負情的預告、警告;李益的偽負情。主角 (內環) 和配角 (外環、旁觀者),都對李益的可能負情、偽負情,作出了懷疑、責難,甚至欲殺之而後快,對偽負情者的的懲處。全劇營造的可能負情並沒有出現,反而是李益經歷小玉的偽負情考驗和太尉迫婚,以「丈夫節義論」為後盾:道德支持的愛情,選擇吞釵拒婚,成為至情的情中聖。
Tong Di-sang's “The Purple Hairpin” (1957) was adapted from Tang Xian-zu's “The Purple Hairpin” of the Ming Dynasty. Tong’s “The Purple Hairpin” (1957) is collected in Ye Shaode ed., Tang Di-sang Xi Qu Xin Shang 1987 (Ye Shaode version) and Cheung Man Wai ed., Tang Di-sang Xi Qu Xin Shang 2016 (mud print version). In addition, there are 2 Cantonese Opera movies of “The Purple Hairpin” (1959, 1977), the play was recorded in 1966.
A distinctive feature of “The Purple Hairpin” (1957) is the atmosphere of pseudo unfaithfulness of the play including notice, warning of the unfaithfulness as well as the pseudo unfaithfulness of Lei Jik. Main characters (inner circle) and minor characters (outer circle/ bystanders) have conveyed strong feeling of doubts, condemns and even punishment of killing for Lei Jik's unfaithfulness. The atmosphere of unfaithfulness built up in the play has come to an anticlimax, the real unfaithfulness never exists. Lei Jik after the trial of Siu-juk's pseudo unfaithfulness as well as the forced marriage of the Military Governor, chooses to swallow the hairpin: ready to die for love. Lei Jik has proved himself to be a great lover.
