Abstract

The theme of this exhibition, ‘sensing things’, invites viewers to explore a profound connection with the featured works and their creators through an awareness of one's own perceptions of the objective world. In addition to an analysis of the visual and stylistic elements of the paintings from the vantage point of physically sensing the external world, this essay provides context regarding the 20th century in which these artists worked, deepening our understanding of the motivations and visions behind their creative practices.
