Abstract
本文总结英国高校现代外语 (MFL) 教育的现状，数据来源于英国语言学科大学理事会 (UCML)、英国国家学术院 (British Academy) 和英国汉学协会 (BACS) 等专业组织所发布的最新报告 (2016-2022年)。基于英国国家学术院和英国文化委员会等机构于2020年所发布的《英国国家语言战略》和英、美、加、澳四国科学院在2020年联合发布的《全球语境下语言重要性的联合声明》等文件，本文分析英国近年来关于外语学科的政策行动和发展动态。
This article summarizes the current state of modern foreign language (MFL) education in the UK on the basis of latest survey reports by several institutions, including the University Council of Modern Languages (UCML), the British Academy and the British Association for Chinese Studies (BACS) between 2016 and 2022. It also analyses UK's policy actions and latest development on foreign language subject areas based on the document National Languages Strategy issued by British Academy, British Cultural Commitee and other institutions in the UK in 2020 and The Joint Statement on the Importance of Languages in Global Context issued by the science institutions in the UK, the US, Australia and Canada.
