Abstract
《英國文化與香港:1945–97》探討20世紀下半葉英國文化與香港的互動,闡明香港如何在英國去殖民化敘事中佔據一個特殊的位置,同時作為英國在停滯與衰退時期反思自身文化的偶爾對照。透過廣泛引用歷史檔案及已出版的第一手資料,作者深入研究多個主題,包括香港作為不受約束的資本主義、現代化與良好管治的場所,以及作為男性社交與性別機遇的景域。本書亦探討香港華人如何吸納英國文化,以及英國觀察者對香港回歸中國主權未來所提出的各種不同預測。
