Abstract

A broadband omnidirectional circularly polarized dielectric resonator antenna (DRA) is presented. The proposed antenna consists of a cylindrical dielectric resonator and circular patches. Slots and shorting-pins are asymmetrically introduced in the patches to excite the cylindrical dielectric resonator. The proposed antenna is simulated, fabricated and measured. The simulation and experiment results show that the proposed antenna achieves a wide 3 dB AR frequency bandwidth of 31.1%.
