Abstract
The article presents a profile of the women's rights initiative 1000 Women for the Nobel Peace Price 2005, renamed PeaceWomen across the Globe. Details are given discussing women's roles in alternative economic development in the 21st century, highlighting the actions of PeaceWomen to promote the accomplishments of minority and underrepresented women. The particular example of the Chinese woman Wang Pinsong is then given, describing her work to improve her rural Chinese village. Concluding remarks are given asserting the importance of inspirational women in global development.
