Abstract

Objectives: Ankle sprain is one of the most well-known injuries in basketball, and there are many reasons for this, some of which have become more common in recent years.

Methods: The analysis was carried out by searching for articles on ankle injuries and categorizing them into contact, non-contact and indirect contact. And in the maximum data option which is the contact. Among the contact categories, the more neglected injuries were identified which is slide under and find examples to illustrate.

Implications: This time have collected three examples to illustrate this injury which were three NBA games on different days which were May 14, 2017, June 14, 2021, and May 12, 2018. The injured were Kawhi Lenorad, Kyrie Lrving and Brandon Ingram. Both of them were hurt by the defender's outstretched foot which was called slide under. Three of them were injured from contact with a defender's foot on the ground. Their commonalities were three of them were inversion ankle sprain, the difference was only in the different feet. This injury should also be studied by scholars.
