Abstract
The book is based on the execution and findings of a one-year community art facilitation project called Art as intervention in serving secondary child victims of family violence. The project consisted of two series of specially structured art facilitation group workshops for 24 child victims aged from 6 to 11. The book is divided into four parts. The Introduction is a concise summary of the project, stating the theoretical framework, approach, evaluation and findings. The Manual is a reference guide derived from the project, providing the basic concepts and principles for understanding how art can serve as an intervention for children exposed to family violence. It is not meant to be a manual for direct application. The Appendices are descriptions of the games and creative activities adopted by this project, together with illustrations and examples of works created by the child victims. Finally the Attachments include some of the forms and worksheets used in this project.
