Abstract

Packet dropout is one of the biggest challenges for networked control systems. In the literature, the packet dropout was usually described by a Bernoulli distribution of which the success probability is a known constant. In practice, however, this probability can be time-varying. Due to this fact, a generalized formulation is introduced for the packet dropout in this study. Based on this formulation, an enhanced generalized predictive control scheme is proposed for a class of single-input single-output linear systems. With packet dropouts, the system becomes a stochastic process. Hence, a sufficient condition, which guarantees the output tracking error to be uniformly ultimately bounded in the mean-square sense, is presented and proved in this paper. Simulations are given to illustrate the feasibility and effectiveness of the proposed scheme. © 2011 Chinese Assoc of Automati.
