Abstract

This study aims to explore the socio-economic, cultural and institutional barriers encountered by rural and urban students in Chinese mainland in accessing higher education. With the advancement of China's education reform, the issue of educational equity has become more and more prominent, especially the disparity in educational resources and opportunities between urban and rural areas. By comparing and analyzing the barriers to higher education for rural and urban students, the study hopes to reveal the important factors affecting educational equity and provide a reference for policy improvement.
