Abstract
Moore reviews the book How I Learned to Snap, by Kirk Read.
It is audacious for an author to debut in his late twenties with a memoir. It's too soon for the writer to be objective and, if his second book is a novel, we already know his life story. He can't recycle. Kirk Read drops a hot pink gauntlet in How I Learned To Snap, a brash and entertaining account of coming publicly out in a rural Southern town.
