Abstract
This article is to examine urgent problems faced by peasants in the South and North during the current neoliberal era of financial capital domination on a world scale, as well as peasants’ struggles for social emancipation and legitimate rights of access to land and food. Obviously, such struggles are also related to all categories of workers and people as a whole, insofar as what is at stake is the challenge of achieving food sovereignty and building our societies at the local, national and global level, based on the principles of social justice, equality and real democracy.
