Embodiments of the present disclosure disclose an operating device for a power-assisted wheelchair. The operating device is configured to operate the power-assisted wheelchair so as to enable the power-assisted wheelchair to perform driving motion, and comprises: a handle portion comprising handle(s)provided on the upper rear of the power-assisted wheelchair for a pusher to apply force; a force sensing assembly arranged in the handle(s) and configured to sense the magnitude and direction of the force applied on the handle(s) by the pusher; and a driving control mechanism electrically connected to the force sensing assembly and configured to, based on the magnitude and direction of the force sensed by the force sensing assembly, control the motor of the power-assisted wheelchair, thereby controlling the driving motion of the power-assisted wheelchair. The embodiments also disclose a corresponding power-assisted wheelchair and an operating method thereof. By adopting a control system integrated with the handle(s) of the chair back, the driving force of the motor is controlled by the pusher applying a force on the handle(s) of the chair back, which effectively enhances the safety and use experience of the wheelchair.
