Abstract

This study will investigate the political orientations of Chinese college students after the 1989 incident and will argue that that incident has not changed what they believed before; yet, what happened after the incident has changed their viewpoints on how to achieve their beliefs. The change is from idealism to pragmatism. The nature and process of the change will also be examined.
