PPeLE : A photo-processing e-leaming environment based on HTML5

Abstract

This paper presents a study on designing a novel e-learning environment, in which students can collaboratively learn photo-processing skills. In particular, we name such Photo-Processing e-Learning Environment as PPeLE. Our proposed PPeLE has many merits over the existing photo processing tools, such as low cost, platform-independent, collaborative learning, full-fledged photo-processing functions, and comprehensive learning tutorials. We have implemented a prototype of PPeLE, which is shown to be effective to promote collaborative learning.
