OtherIdentity politics, in its contemporary manifestation, largely emerged from the new social movements after the World War II (Bernstein, 2005). As young as this phrase seems to be, its sociological significance should not be underestimated and important issues remain with regard to our understanding about identity politics in an increasingly globalized world. The conference aims to encourage presentations and discussions on various aspects of identity politics in the global context.
