Abstract

The refugee crisis is a major global problem, and many countries have relied on the assistance of the United Nations Higher Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR), host countries and governments, international non-government organizations (NGOs), and other civil society organisations (CSOs). The refugee crisis in Africa has occurred after African countries gained their independence, which has often been followed by wars over control of political power (Blavo, 2019; Ogata, 2000). The South Sudanese refugee crisis is a current example of a refugee crisis that has intensified since South Sudan gained independence in 2011. Therefore, internal and international population displacement is invariably the consequence of war.
