N2 - This article is a theoretical map that delineates the fledging field of Chinese night-time economy studies, highlights its significance, and suggests possible future directions for its development. It will briefly explicate the night-time economy's significance for the state, society, and economy in China. It will map out current developments in English-language studies of nightlife and the night-time economy and the present state of the field in China.
