Abstract
In the current era of economic globalization and cultural diversification, countries are actively promoting the concept of a joint community of shared future for humanity. This shared value has led to a heightened focus on global competence education, which has become an integral facet of talent cultivation in the modern age. This paper analyzes five representative index systems using the logic of modular elements, subject-object relationships, and action procedures to extract 20 operational indicators for developing global competence in university students. The study focuses on Sino-foreign cooperative universities in China that have a clear mandate for cultivating internationalized talents. Using operational indicators of global competence, the research analyzes the cultivation objectives and curricula through a content analysis method.
The study discovered that the talent cultivation objectives of Sino-foreign cooperative universities align closely with the knowledge, attitudes, and skills encompassed by global competence indicators, particularly in the areas of "global perspective," "innovation," and "China-based". After aligning the curriculum systems with global competence indicators, the study identified cultivation in a variety of areas, including students' global thinking, comprehension of world humanities, adaptability, creativity, leadership, as well as respect for their own and other cultures, and concern for cultural diversity. The results demonstrate that Sino-foreign cooperative universities strive to develop globally competent talent with a combination of international perspective, innovation consciousness, and patriotism, and their curricula effectively support the development of students' global competence.
