Student teacher placements : a critical commentary

In this chapter the central role of teaching practice placements in teacher education programmes is discussed. This is followed by consideration of how placements may contribute to limiting student teachers' pedagogical actions and reflection, thus constructing a minimalized, normative performance of a teacher's role.
