During 1986 and 1987 the Training, Education and Employment for Minorities Project commissioned a number of reports investigating the background of the social and educational needs of linguistic and ethnic minorities in Scotland. This report by Alfred Chan, THE CHINESE IN SCOTLAND: Their Education, employment and social needs in British society in the past 20 years is the first of the series. It takes a close look at how the Chinese community came to be established across Britain, the conditions they have faced during the past 20 years, and their aspirations particularly of the young - for the future.
