Abstract
I am grateful to Aleta Quinn for proposing and organising this forum. I am also thankful to the commentators for reading The Instrument of Science so scrupulously. I will focus mainly on their criticisms, organised by topic, in the hope of moving the debate forward. Alas, the word limit prevents me from engaging with each comment I should like to.
