Abstract

The problem of youth employment has become a global problem which results in various new sub-cultures and behaviors of youth. In China, colleague graduates and youth migrant workers are two major groups of youth looking for a job. There is a debate among scholars that whether it is a social problem when a large number of migrant colleague graduates are living in a compact community at a corner of the city. This paper introduces the concepts of ‘working poor’ and ‘social capital’ into the analysis of the problem and proposes some policy suggestions.
